Doyle has one-shot lead at senior golf

PARKVILLE, Mo., June 12 (UPI) -- Allen Doyle had a 6-under-par 66 Saturday to grab the lead after the second round of the senior Bayer Advantage Celebrity Pro-Am.

A bogey at the 17th hole, his only one of the day, prevented Doyle from the matching the National Golf Club of Kansas City course record for the second straight day.

He rebounded with a birdie at No. 18 to complete 36 holes at 13-under 131, one shot better than Jerry Pate, who was alone in second place after shooting a 65.

Doyle is an eight-time winner on the Champions Tour, with his most recent victory coming last year at the FleetBoston Classic.

Andy Bean, who shared the first-round lead with Doyle and John Harris, posted a 70 that left him in a tie for third with Mark James, Bob Gilder and David Eger.

Harris, who is seeking his first win on the elder circuit, fell to seventh after a 71.
