CALGARY, Alberta, June 4 (UPI) -- The Calgary Flames will have a chance to send their red-clad fans into a frenzy Saturday night when they host Tampa Bay with the Stanley Cup on the line.
Calgary holds a 3-2 advantage in the Stanley Cup Finals.
The Flames captured their only Stanley Cup title in 1989 with stars such as Al MacInnis, Gary Suter, Doug Gilmour, Joe Mullen, Joe Nieuwendyk and Theo Fleury, winning the clinching sixth game at Montreal.
Not much was expected from this group, which features star right wing Jarome Iginla and goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff.
But after finishing sixth in the Western Conference, the Flames have knocked off the top three seeds -- Detroit, San Jose and Vancouver.
"We have a chance to do something at home that you dream about," Calgary center Craig Conroy said.
The Flames closed out the Red Wings and the Sharks in their previous playoff series in Game 6 at home.
If the Lightning win on Saturday, Game 7 will be at Tampa on Monday night.
The Flames can become the first Canadian team to win the championship since the 1993 Canadiens.
