MLB: NY Mets 5, Philadelphia 3 (10 inn.)

PHILADELPHIA, June 2 (UPI) -- Todd Zeile hit a three-run homer in the eighth and a two-run blast in the 10th Wednesday night, giving the New York Mets a 5-3 win over Philadelphia.

A one-time member of the Phillies, Zeile has haunted his former team this season. On Tuesday night, he hit a solo homer in the eighth to tie the game before delivering an RBI single in the 10th to lead the Mets to a 4-1 victory.

In this one, he delivered two key blows.

With runners on second and third and two outs, Phillies Manager Larry Bowa called on rookie Ryan Madson to face Zeile. He took three straight balls before depositing a 3-2 offering into the left field bleachers, tying the game at 3-3.

In the 10th, Zeile came up with one on and two outs against Roberto Hernandez (1-2). The utility player sent a 2-1 pitch over the right field wall for his 250th career homer and a 5-3 New York lead.
