DETROIT, May 12 (UPI) -- Damian Miller's two-out single in the top of the 15th inning drove in the winning run as Oakland beat the Detroit Tigers 5-4 Tuesday.
Miller had been hitless in six previous times at bat in the game before he connected off Detroit reliever Danny Patterson (0-2).

Reliever Justin Duchscherer (1-1) pitched five scoreless innings for the Athletics, who have won four of their last five games.
Detroit had led early but Oakland came back to tie it at 4-4 on a hit by Scott Hatteberg in the sixth inning.
The Tigers' had three bunt singles, giving him 12 for the season.
