Norman makes another appeal for Olympic go

SHANGHAI, May 11 (UPI) -- Greg Norman already is looking at the 2008 Summer Games where he would like golf to be included as a demonstration sport.

Norman arrived Tuesday for the BMW Asian Open and wasted no time rekindling discussions for the inclusion of golf as an Olympic sport. His previous campaigns, aimed at both Sydney in 2000 and Athens this summer, fell on deaf ears.

With the Olympics heading to China, Norman insisted Beijing 2008 would be the ideal occasion for the sport to be given its chance.

"I think golf should be in the Olympics," he said. "The way golf has grown here in China over the last four or five years, it is worthy. Golf is growing in China like no other country in the world, and I think what you are seeing now is just the tip of the sphere."
