HOOVER, Ala., May 2 (UPI) -- Bruce Fleisher posted the most decisive win in three years on the Champions Tour Sunday with a seven-stroke victory at the Bruno's Memorial Classic.
Fleisher had a 4-under-par 68 to finish the 54-hole event at 16-under 200 to become the first two-time winner on tour this season. He claimed his 18th career title.
It was the most convincing win on the 50-and-older circuit since Ed Dougherty had an eight-stroke triumph at the TD Waterhouse Championship in May 2001. The record for a 54-hole event is nine strokes, done three times.
Bruce Lietzke and D.A. Weibring shared second at 9-under 207. Defending champion Tom Jenkins was fourth at 8-under 208.
Fleisher was in control from start to finish this week, building a four-shot advantage with an opening-round 64. He maintained the lead with a second-round 68.
