CALGARY, Alberta, April 27 (UPI) -- Shean Donovan capped a five-goal outburst with 7:36 to go in the second period Tuesday as Calgary beat Detroit, 3-2, to take a two games to one lead.
Just 40 seconds after defenseman Jiri Fischer lifted the Red Wings into a 2-2 tie with his first playoff goal, Donovan took a feed off the left boards from Marcus Nilson, got away from the check of Pavel Datsyuk and slid the puck by goaltender Curtis Joseph.
It was the team-leading second goal of the series for Donovan, who scored 18 during the season.
Miikka Kiprusoff made the lead stand, stopping all 12 shots in the third period.
Robert Lang had the other goal for the top-seeded Red Wings.
