DENVER, April 28 (UPI) -- Royce Clayton hit in two and Vinny Castilla drilled a go-ahead three-run double to lift the Colorado Rockies to a 13-10 triumph over the Florida Marlins.
Florida snapped an 8-8 tie in the eighth on Miguel Cabrera's two-run homer off reliever Vladimir Nunez.
In the bottom of the inning, the Rockies loaded the bases with none out against Fox (0-1) before Nate Bump struck out Rene Reyes and pinch hitter Aaron Miles. But Clayton sent a 3-2 pitch into center field to tie it.
After an intentional walk to Todd Helton loaded the bases, Castilla cleared them with a double to center.
Closer Shawn Chacon gave up a one-out single to Jeff Conine in the top of the ninth, but Mike Redmond grounded into a game-ending double play. Chacon recorded his fifth save after Nunez (2-0) pitched three innings.
"It's a typical game at Coors," said Rockies manager Clint Hurdle. "We hit five home runs and almost lost the ballgame. I tell you what, this would have been a hard game to lose."
