Brandon Larson returns to Reds

PITTSBURGH, April 26 (UPI) -- The Cincinnati Reds have third-baseman Brandon Larson in the lineup for the first time this season.

Cincinnati activated Larson from the 15-day disabled list prior to a game at Pittsburgh Monday. The Reds sent backup catcher Corky Miller to Class AAA Louisville of the International League to make room on the roster for Larson.

Larson, who has been playing in Louisville during a rehabilitation period, has been out of the Reds' lineup since the beginning of the season with a sprained right big toe.

Ryan Freel has played third for the Reds in Larson's absence but was hit on the ear by a pitch Saturday and his availability is listed as day-to-day.
