IMOLA, Italy, April 25 (UPI) -- Michael Schumacher, winning four Formula One races in a row, captured the San Marino Grand Prix Sunday.
Schumacher's time was 1 hour, 26 minutes and 19.67 seconds for his 74th career win and sixth win here.
A six-time world champion, Schumacher averaged 131.691 miles per hour around the 3.058-mile Enzo and Dino Ferrari circuit.
Jenson Button, who had the pole position for the first time in a Formula One race, finished a career-best second, 9.702 seconds behind Schumacher. The BAR Honda driver from Britain had third-place finishes in the last two Grand Prixs in Malaysia and Bahrain.
This race wasn't close. Schumacher overtook Button in the first round of pit stops, opening a six-second cushion and cruised the rest of the way. He led by as much as 28 seconds with just 10 laps left in the 62-lap race before easing up.
Juan Pablo Montoya was third.
