SAVANNAH, Ga., April 23 (UPI) -- Gil Morgan, who has a win and six top-10 finishes this year, shot a 7-under-par 65 Friday to take a one-stroke lead in the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf.
Morgan, shooting for his 24th victory on the Champions Tour, was a stroke in front of Hale Irwin and Dave Barr and two ahead of Craig Stadler. Five players came next at 5-under -- Bruce Fleischer, Gary Koch, Dana Quigley, Dave Stockton and Leonard Thompson.

Morgan's victory at the SBC Classic this season left him in a tie with Bob Charles for fourth on the all-time win list with 23.
Irwin, who leads the list with 38 career victories on the senior tour, has not won this year.
