MLB: Anaheim 6, Oakland 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., April 18 (UPI) -- Vladimir Guerrero and Troy Glaus homered as the Anaheim Angels posted a 6-3 triumph over the Oakland Athletics Saturday in Anaheim, Calif.

Anaheim's Jarrod Washburn (2-1) allowed two runs and five hits before giving way to Scot Shields, who tossed 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Francisco Rodriguez followed, striking out all four batters he faced.

Troy Percival surrendered a solo homer to Billy McMillon in the ninth and walked Bobby Kielty and Eric Chavez. But he retired red-hot Jermaine Dye on a foulout and Eric Karros on a bouncer to third.

Guerrero gave Anaheim a 4-1 lead in the third inning with a two-run homer off Oakland starter Mark Mulder (1-1), and Glaus added a two-run shot in the eighth. Both players have four homers this season.

Mulder allowed four runs -- two earned -- and five hits in seven innings. He walked two, struck out five and fell to 3-5 lifetime against Anaheim.

After Guerrero's two-run homer in the third, Dye got Oakland within 4-2 with an RBI single in the fifth. In the eighth, Garret Anderson walked and Glaus homered to right for a five-run bulge.
