TORONTO, April 17 (UPI) -- Larry Bigbie snapped a ninth-inning tie with his third homer of the season Saturday as Baltimore defeated Toronto, 5-3, for its third straight win.
Bigbie hit his homer off reliever Justin Speier (1-1) to lead off the ninth. Brian Roberts followed with a double and scored on Miguel Tejada's single.
B.J. Ryan (1-0) got the win with a scoreless eighth inning and Jorge Julio tossed the ninth for his first save.
Tejada and Melvin Mora drove in two runs apiece for the Orioles, who have outscored opponents, 28-12, during the winning streak.
Toronto tied it, 3-3, in the fifth inning as Reed Johnson led off with a single and Orioles starter Kurt Ainsworth hit Orlando Hudson with a pitch. After Chris Woodward sacrificed, Frank Catalanotto drove in Johnson with a groundout.
Vernon Wells homered in the fourth for the Blue Jays, who fell to 0-5 at home.
