TORONTO, April 16 (UPI) -- Ed Belfour recorded his third shutout of the series and Tie Domi and Joe Nieuwendyk scored in the third period Friday night as Toronto blanked Ottawa, 2-0.

Denied a third straight shutout on Wednesday night in Ottawa, Belfour made seven saves in each period for his 14th career playoff whitewash.

He got some help from defenseman Ken Klee, who chased down Marian Hossa late in the second period and tapped his left glove to disrupt a breakaway.

Toronto survived a stretch of more than 25 1/2 minutes without a shot bridging the first two periods, then broke through 1:43 into the third on Domi's first playoff goal in 11 games.

Domi took a wrist shot from the bottom of the right circle that was stopped by goaltender Patrick Lalime. But the puck hit backchecking Ottawa center Bryan Smolinski and caromed into the net.

Nieuwendyk converted with 4:42 remaining.
