SAN DIEGO, April 9 (UPI) -- Sean Burroughs used his bat early Friday to give hometown fans in San Diego 4-3 overtime win over visiting San Francisco.

Burroughs singled in the tying run in the bottom of the ninth inning, then delivered an RBI single in the 10th as the Padres rallied twice to beat the Giants.

The Padres appeared headed to a third straight one-run defeat after closer Trevor Hoffman surrendered a two-run double to Ray Durham in the top of the ninth. But Burroughs ended a 12-pitch at-bat by singling off former Padre Matt Herges (0-1) to score Khalil Greene with one out in the bottom half.

An inning later, he came through again, following a run-scoring ground rule double by Miguel Ojeda with a bloop single off rookie David Aardsma.

Antonio Osuna served up Marquis Grissom's leadoff homer in the 10th, but Eddie Oropesa (1-0) got the win in his fourth straight appearance.
