PORTLAND, Ore., April 4 (UPI) -- New Orleans hurt Portland's playoff quest Saturday night, beating the Trail Blazers 94-81.

Portland fell into a ninth-place tie with Utah in the fight for the eighth and final Western Conference playoff spot and has a tough six-game schedule remaining, including two games each against Los Angeles and San Antonio and one against Denver.

P.J. Brown scored a 24 points and Jamaal Magloire 22 to lead the Hornets, who are one win away from clinching a playoff berth in the Eastern Conference.

Zach Randolph led Portland with 17 points.
