Lasoski wins IROC race

FORT WORTH, Texas, April 3 (UPI) -- Danny Lasoski pulled off an upset Friday night as he became just the second driver for the World of Outlaws Series to win in an IROC race.

Lasoski led all 67 laps, defeating NASCAR's Kevin Harvick by 0.333 seconds at Texas Motor Speedway. His win was the first for a World of Outlaws Sprint Car driver since Steve Kinser won at Talladega in 1994.

"Anytime you can be mentioned in the same breath as Steve Kinser, that's a real honor," Lasoski said. "The least time you expect to win is when it happens.

"I told my family if I could lead the first lap, I have a good shot at winning this thing and lo and behold, it happened tonight."

The last IROC winner not from a NASCAR series was IRL driver Buddy Lazier at Chicagoland Speedway in 2002.
