Luongo stopped 35 shots, increasing his season total to a league-record 2,443. The previous mark of 2,438 was set by Felix Potvin of the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1996-97.

The Senators built a 3-1 lead after the first period, but the Panthers scored the next three goals and went ahead on Juraj Kolnik's 14th of the season with 7:11 left in the second.
