NBA: Detroit 100, New York 85

DETROIT, March 27 (UPI) -- Tayshaun Prince scored 20 points and Corliss Williamson and Elden Campbell each had 13 Saturday as Detroit beat New York, 100-85.

With each team minus one of its starters, the Pistons took advantage of the fatigued Knicks, who played at home against Toronto on Friday.

The Pistons, who held nine of their previous 11 opponents below 80 points, raced to a 67-49 halftime lead and surpassed the century mark for the first time since Feb. 29, a span of 12 games. Detroit led by as many as 26 points in the fourth quarter.

Detroit forward Rasheed Wallace sat out with a sore lower back and New York guard Allan Houston did not play due to a bruised left quadriceps.

DerMarr Johnson, starting in place of Houston, paced the Knicks with 17 points. Stephon Marbury, who averaged 30.5 points in New York's previous four games, was held to 12.
