NHL: Chicago 2, Colorado 2 (OT)

DENVER, March 24 (UPI) -- Tyler Arnason scored with 1:40 left in regulation Tuesday as Chicago rallied from a two-goal deficit to earn a 2-2 tie with Colorado.

Arnason intercepted a clearing attempt along the right boards, skated around Joe Sakic and beat Tommy Salo with a quick snap shot to the stick side.

Sakic became the 16th player in NHL history to record 1,400 points when he assisted on Steve Konowalchuk's goal that made it 2-0 with 8:06 left in the second period.

Peter Forsberg, who returned after missing 17 games with a nagging groin injury, assisted on Matthew Barnaby's goal that opened the scoring 89 seconds into the second.

The Avalanche registered a season-high 43 shots, 20 in the second period. Michael Leighton kept the Blackhawks in the game with 40 saves, stopping Sakic 11 times.

Jim Vandermeer halved the deficit with a shorthanded goal 4:10 into the third.
