COL BKB: Iowa St. 82, Georgia 74

AMES, Iowa, March 18 (UPI) -- Curtis Stinson scored 15 of his 21 in the second half without missing a shot Wednesday night as Iowa State turned back Georgia, 82-74, in the NIT.

Stinson was six of six from the field and two of two from the line after halftime. Iowa State shot 81 percent in the second half and 74 percent for the game.

Jackson Vroman scored 23 points for Iowa State (18-12), which used a 10-1 run midway through the second half to turn a one-point lead into a 66-56 advantage.

Marcus Jefferson scored 11 points and Jake Sullivan added 10 for the Cyclones, who will face Florida State in the next round.

Damien Wilkins scored 20 points for Georgia (16-14), which also had four players in double figures.

Georgia tried 27 three-point shots and made 12.
