NHL: Edmonton 3, Columbus 2

EDMONTON, Alberta, March 16 (UPI) -- Ethan Moreau scored with 6:23 left in the third period Tuesday as Edmonton extended its unbeaten streak against Columbus to 10 games with a 3-2 victory.

Moreau scored his career-high 18th goal when he took a pass from defenseman Steve Staios in the low slot and shoveled a backhander under goaltender Marc Denis.

The game-winner came just 1:40 after Andrew Cassels lifted Columbus into a 2-2 tie.

Moreau also set up Georges Laraque's sixth goal at 2:41 of the third as Edmonton improved to 7


3 against the Blue Jackets since Nov. 2, 2001.

Alexander Svitov had the other goal for the Blue Jackets, who matched a season high with their seventh consecutive loss.
