HARTFORD, Conn., March 7 (UPI) -- No. 25 Boston College, led by Kathrin Ress with 20 points, defeated No. 21 Miami (Fla.) 65-53 in a women's basketball Big East tournament quarterfinal.
Ress connected on 7-of-10 from the floor Sunday, nailed all six free throws and pulled down seven rebounds for Boston College (23-6), which on Monday will play the winner of the Connecticut-Virginia Tech game.

Jessalyn Deveny scored 17 points and Clare Droesch grabbed eight rebounds for the Eagles, who led at halftime, 23-20.
Yalonda McCormick delivered 19 points, six assists and five rebounds for Miami (22-6), which shot just 2-of-5 from the free-throw line and 3-of-15 from three-point range.
