Marshall, who was assigned to San Jose's American Hockey League affiliate in Cleveland, recorded one goal and four assists in 12 games with the Wild this season.

Drafted ninth overall by St. Louis in 1989, the 33-year-old has appeared in 491 NHL games with the Blues, Anaheim, Washington and Minnesota, totaling 15 goals and 45 assists with 962 penalty minutes.

"We are pleased to add Jason to our organization as he provides experience, character and depth," Sharks General Manager Doug Wilson said.
