COL BKB: Kansas 78, Nebraska 67

LAWRENCE, Kan., March 3 (UPI) -- Wayne Simien continued his late-season surge with 22 points Wednesday night as No. 18 Kansas gained revenge with a 78-67 win over Nebraska.

Simien, who has been limited in practice due to a sore groin, is averaging 19.6 points in his last 11 games and needs 79 to reach 1,000 for his career.

The Jayhawks (19-7, 11-4 Big 12) were embarrassed in Lincoln on Feb. 15, suffering a 74-55 defeat. But they took control of the rematch late in the first half and led by as many as 22 points early in the second.

Kansas, which concludes the regular season at Missouri on Sunday, finished 13-1 at Allen Fieldhouse and has won 27 straight conference home games.

Brian Conklin scored 13 points for Nebraska (16-10, 6-9).
