Kings place Holland on injured reserve

LOS ANGELES, Feb. 29 (UPI) -- The NHL's Los Angeles Kings defenseman Jason Holland has been was placed on injured reserve with a thigh contusion.

Holland, 27, has registered three goals and three assists for the Kings. He signed as a free agent prior to the start of the 2001-02 season.

In a related move, Los Angeles recalled defenseman Denis Grebeshkov from the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League.

Originally selected by the Kings in the first round of the 2002 draft, Grebeshkov recorded a goal and four assists in 25 games for the Monarchs. He was a member of the Russian team that won gold medals at the 2002 and 2003 World Junior Championships.
