DALLAS, Feb. 29 (UPI) -- Bill Guerin scored his second goal of the game 55 seconds into overtime Sunday to give the Dallas Stars a 5-4 victory over the Edmonton Oilers.
After Guerin gave the Stars a 1-0 lead over his former club just over two minutes into the game, Edmonton stormed back, scoring four times to take a three-goal advantage.
But Dallas, which entered with a 15-game home unbeaten streak against the Oilers, battled back, knotting the contest on defenseman Teppo Numminen's first goal in 13 games 4:52 into the third period.
The only team without a loss in overtime this season, the Stars stretched their overall unbeaten streak to six games when Guerin one-timed Pierre Turgeon's feed past goaltender Tommy Salo from the right faceoff circle.
Defenseman Steve Staios had a goal and an assist for Edmonton, which has won just once in 21 visits to Dallas.
