COL BKB: Oklahoma St 72, Baylor 65

WACO, Texas, Feb. 28 (UPI) -- After handing Baylor its worst loss of the season Feb. 14, No. 6 Oklahoma State had a much tougher time with the Bears Saturday before emerging with a 72-65 victory.

Ivan McFarlin scored 24 points and Tony Allen added 22 to lead Oklahoma State (22-3), which will host Texas in a showdown for first place in the Big 12 on Monday.

Baylor (8-19) rallied from an eight-point deficit in the final three minutes and pulled within 67-65 after Harvey Thomas hit the second of back-to-back three-pointers with 62 seconds left.

Baylor transfer John Lucas did not allow the Cowboys to lose, penetrating past three players in the lane and setting up McFarlin for an easy layup with 25.8 seconds remaining.

Baylor missed three three-point attempts on its final possession.

Lucas transferred from Baylor in the offseason in the wake of the scandal surrounding slain former Bears player Patrick Dennehy.
