CLEVELAND, Feb. 23 (UPI) -- Rookie LeBron James scored 21 points Monday as Cleveland rallied from a 25-point deficit and matched a season high with a 104-100 win over New Orleans.
New Orleans looked unstoppable early as Baron Davis and Jamal Mashburn each scored 14 points en route to a 37-16 lead after one quarter. Davis fed rookie David West for a dunk and a 47-22 cushion with 7:45 left in the first half.
James had 13 points by halftime, helping Cleveland pull within 59-45 at the break. Fellow rookie Jason Kapono scored a season-high 19 points.
James assisted on Carlos Boozer's basket that gave Cleveland the lead for good at 96-94 with 2:13 remaining. James knifed through the defense for a layup and a four-point lead.
Davis airballed a 3-pointer on New Orleans' next possession and Boozer dunked for a 101-95 cushion with 27 seconds to go.
