ANAHEIM, Calif., Feb. 16 (UPI) -- Jean-Sebastien Giguere made 36 saves and Sergei Fedorov and Petr Sykora scored 19 seconds apart in the second period Monday as Anaheim beat Dallas, 3-1.
After backstopping the Ducks' surprising run to the Stanley Cup Finals last spring, Giguere has had a difficult season. But he has put together back-to-back strong outings, stopping 70 of 72 shots to improve to 10-22-4.
Anaheim has won three of four games since the All-Star break.
Just eight seconds into a power play, the Ducks opened the scoring when Federov's slap shot deflected off the skate of Dallas defenseman Teppo Numminen.
Sykora beat Marty Turco with a one-timer to make it 2-0.
Giguere blanked the Stars until Bill Guerin beat him on a
breakaway 6:05 into the third period.
Anaheim sealed it on Mike Leclerc's first goal of the season, an empty-netter with 34 seconds remaining.
