Senators' Bonk out with broken foot

OTTAWA, Feb. 11 (UPI) -- The Ottawa Senators will lose center Radek Bonk for up to six weeks because of a broken bone in his right foot.

The injury occurred when he was hit by a shot in the second period of the Senators' 3-1 Tuesday win over the St. Louis Blues.

The 28-year-old Bonk, with 12 goals and 38 points in 53 games this season, was the third overall pick in the 1994 draft. He has scored at least 22 goals each of the last four seasons.

Ottawa did not make any immediate roster move regarding Bonk.

Center Mike Fisher, defenseman Anton Volchenkov and left wing Vaclav Varada already are on injured reserve.

Ottawa is fifth in the Eastern Conference with 69 points.
