MONTREAL, Jan. 24 (UPI) -- Mats Sundin had a goal and set up another and Ed Belfour got a share of fourth place on the all-time wins list Saturday as Toronto beat Montreal, 4-1.
Unbeaten in their previous six visits to the Bell Centre, the Maple Leafs fell behind in this one when Richard Zednik scored 9:25 into the second period. Defenseman Bryan McCabe tied it less than two minutes later and Joe Nieuwendyk put Toronto ahead at 14:36 with his 12th goal.
That was all the support Belfour needed as he stopped 14 shots en route to his 423rd career victory, tying Tony Esposito on the all-time list.
Sundin set up Mikael Renberg's tally late in the second period before netting his 17th goal midway through the third to cap the scoring. It was Sundin's 15th multi-point game of the season, tying him for second in the league.
