COL BKB: Fla. St. 90, N. Carolina 81 (OT)

TALLAHASSEE, Fla., Jan. 22 (UPI) -- Tim Pickett scored 22 points in the second half Thursday night in rallying Florida State from 24 points down to a 90-81, overtime win over North Carolina.

The 11th-ranked Tar Heels (11-4, 1-3 ACC) used a 21-0 run to build a huge first-half cushion. Florida State managed to whittle its deficit to 49-35 at the break.

The Seminoles then used a 19-3 tear to pull within 72-69 with 5:16 remaining on a tip-in by freshman Von Wafer. Pickett was unstoppable in the second half as he victimized Rashad McCants with an assortment of jumpers and drives to produce 30 points overall.

Todd Galoway's three-pointer with seven seconds left in regulation got Florida State even at 78-78.

Florida State (13-5, 2-3) scored the first 11 points of overtime.
