COL BKB: Georgia 65, Kentucky 57

LEXINGTON, Ky., Jan. 17 (UPI) -- Rashad Wright scored 20 points Saturday afternoon, as unranked Georgia upset No. 5 Kentucky, 65-57.

With their rare win in Lexington, the Bulldogs ended the Wildcats' 19-game SEC regular-season winning streak.

Georgia (9-5, 1-2 SEC East) dropped its first two conference games, losing by a combined 45 points to Tennessee and South Carolina. Coach Dennis Felton, hired in the wake of the Jim Harrick scandal after a successful stint at Western Kentucky, responded by giving his fatigued team three days off in preparation for the trip to Kentucky.

The Bulldogs grabbed an early 11-point lead and led most of the way. Two foul shots by freshman Levi Stukes gave Georgia the lead for good at 35-34 with 11:33 to go.

Georgia won for just the fourth time in 54 trips to Lexington against Kentucky (11-2, 2-1). The Wildcats had won 10 of the previous 12 meetings overall.

Erik Daniels led Kentucky with 15 points.
