Warriors place Van Exel on injured list

OAKLAND, Calif., Jan. 15 (UPI) -- Golden State Warriors guard Nick Van Exel was placed on the injured list Thursday with a bad left knee.

Van Exel is suffering from inflammation in the joint, which he had surgically repaired on Nov. 20 and has cost him seven games this season.

After a sensational playoff campaign with Dallas last season, Van Exel was acquired last summer. He is averaging 13.4 points, 2.7 rebounds and 5.9 assists in 30 games.

The Warriors also activated center Adonal Foyle from the injured list. He has missed 34 games following surgery to his left knee on Nov. 6.
