The team did not reveal financial terms.

Rogers was with Texas from 1989-95 and from 2000-02. In those 10 seasons, Rogers went 101-79 with a 4.18 ERA in a club-record 463 games. His 36 wins at The Ballpark in Arlington are second of any pitcher, behind only former Ranger Rick Helling.

The 39-year-old Rogers was 13-8 with a 4.57 ERA in 33 games, including 31 starts, for the Minnesota Twins last season. He pitched 195 innings.

Rogers provides the Rangers with a reliable veteran in a

rotation that was supposed to be headed by the oft-injured Chan Ho Park.

Selected by the Rangers in the 39th round of the 1982 draft, Rogers ranks third in team history in wins, strikeouts (988) and innings pitched (1,502), behind Charlie Hough and Bobby Witt.

Rogers pitched the only perfect game in franchise history on July 28, 1994, against Anaheim.
