WASHINGTON, Jan. 13 (UPI) -- Yao Ming got had 21 points and 11 rebounds Tuesday as the Houston Rockets posted a 93-80 triumph over the Washington Wizards.
Yao played just eight minutes and was scoreless in the second
half of Sunday's 97-93 loss to the Boston Celtics.
Yao had scored a total of just 35 points in his last four games but dominated the third quarter of this one, scoring 14 points.
Steve Francis had 16 points and 10 assists for the Rockets, who shot 51.5 percent (35-of-68) from the field. Jimmy Jackson and Cuttino Mobley each scored 16 points as the Rockets improved to 7-2 on the road against Eastern Conference opponents.
Larry Hughes led Washington with 23 points but made just 9-of-24 shots. As a team, the Wizards shot just 39 percent (29-of-74) and were outrebounded, 44-31.
