NHL: Colorado 3, Minnesota 1

DENVER, Jan. 4 (UPI) -- Teemu Selanne and Milan Hejduk scored goals in the second period and Philippe Sauve stopped 25 shots Sunday as Colorado rallied past Minnesota, 3-1.

Peter Forsberg set up Hejduk's go-ahead tally, then scored into an empty net in the final minute as Colorado moved a season-high 10 games over .500. The Avalanche climbed within four points of first-place Vancouver in the Northwest Division and have played two fewer games than the Canucks.

The Avalanche were on another power play 4 1/2 minutes later when Hejduk flipped a shot over Fernandez's left arm for his 19th goal.

Jason Wiemer had the lone goal for Minnesota, which is winless in its last six games (0-4-2).
