NEW ORLEANS, Dec. 31 (UPI) -- The coaches involved in the Sugar Bowl said Wednesday they had little interest in the Rose Bowl -- where a part of the national crown could be at stake.
"I don't know if I'll watch it or not," Oklahoma Coach Bob Stoops said. "I haven't set my schedule around it."
Top-ranked USC and No. 4 Michigan will meet Thursday in Pasadena. The Trojans are almost certain to finish No. 1 in the final media poll with a victory, leaving Oklahoma and LSU to compete for just a share of the title in the Sugar Bowl on Sunday night.
"I really don't care abut that game because there is nothing we can do about that game," LSU Coach Nick Saban said.
The players, however, know that a victory by Michigan on Thursday will result in a battle for the uncontested national title at the Superdome.
"Obviously, I'd like to see Michigan win," LSU quarterback Matt Mauck admitted.
