PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 26 (UPI) -- Defensive back Troy Vincent of Philadelphia will miss the Eagles' regular season finale Saturday night at Washington.
Vincent, one of two Eagles voted into the Pro Bowl, has a painful hip flexor. The injury caused him to miss last Sunday's contest against San Francisco.
"I had a pretty good feeling (that Vincent wouldn't play],) said Coach Andy Reid. "He's been working like crazy to try to get himself back. He's kind of starting running on it a little bit. But it's not there. On the other hand I have confidence in the guys who will step in and play for him. He'll be ready next week, with or without a bye."
He will be replaced by Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown.
The Eagles need a win over the Redskins to wrap up their third consecutive NFC East title. If they win, they will have a first-round playoff bye next week.
