NHL: St. Louis 2, Columbus 1 (OT)

ST. LOUIS, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Keith Tkachuk scored with 43 seconds remaining in overtime Tuesday night to give St. Louis a 2-1 victory over Columbus.

The Blues stretched their winning streak to six games.

Tkachuk infuriated Columbus Coach Doug MacLean on Friday with a cross-check on defenseman Darryl Sydor. While no penalty was called, it led to Doug Weight's game-winner with nine seconds to play in overtime.

In this one, Tkachuk kept the Blue Jackets' season-long road winless streak going with two terrific plays in both zones.

Tkachuk forechecked Rick Nash near his own net, then completed a terrific three-way passing play with defenseman Chris Pronger and Pavol Demitra, scoring while in mid-air and being hounded by defenseman Scott LaChance.

Tkachuk's team-leading 16th tally gave St. Louis its fourth straight one-goal victory and extended its unbeaten streak to seven games.
