PHILADELPHIA, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Dean McAmmond's second goal of the game, coming with 1:27 remaining in overtime Tuesday night, gave Calgary a 3-2 decision over Philadelphia.
McAmmond escaped on the left side on a two-on-one breakaway, controlled the puck and set himself up for a wrist shot from inside the faceoff circle. The puck sailed over the glove side of goaltender Jeff Hackett.
McAmmond also tied the game 9:50 into the third period, following up a shot from Shean Donovan and stuffing the rebound off Hackett's left pad and just over the goal line.
The Flames improved to 8
1 this season when McAmmond registers a point.
Coming off a 1-1 tie at Colorado, the Flames moved to 10-1-1-2 in their last 14 games.
