MIAMI, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Brian Westbrook scored two touchdowns Monday night as Philadelphia earned its ninth straight victory and damaged Miami's playoff chances with a 34-27 win.

Miami (8-6) kept pace with the high-flying Eagles until Correll Buckhalter's acrobatic, two-yard touchdown run seven seconds into the fourth quarter gave Philadelphia a 31-24 lead.

The Dolphins had two chances to tie, but Philadelphia forced them to punt near midfield and Michael Lewis picked off an overthrow of Jay Fiedler on consecutive possessions.

David Akers added a 42-yard field goal with two minutes remaining, helping seal the win.

Philadelphia has already clinched a playoff spot. Miami fell one game behind Denver for the second wild card spot in the AFC.
