NBA: Minnesota 92, Houston 75

MINNEAPOLIS, Dec. 16 (UPI) -- Sam Cassell scored 25 points Tuesday night to lift Minnesota to a 92-75 victory over the Houston Rockets, who have lost four straight games.

Houston entered the game third in points allowed (84.2) and first in opponents' field-goal percentage (39.1), but had no answer for Sam Cassell, a point guard and former Rocket.

Cassell hit 12 of 17 from the field for 27 points. He is shooting 57 percent in his past six games.

Kevin Garnett was just as effective in the paint with 19 points, 13 rebounds and six blocked shots to help Minnesota improve to 5-5 at home.

Steve Francis scored 16 points and Jimmy Jackson added 12 for the Rockets.
