NFL: St. Louis 26, Cleveland 20

CLEVELAND, Dec. 9 (UPI) -- The St. Louis Rams extended their winning streak to five games Monday with a 26-20 victory over the Cleveland Browns at Cleveland.

Aeneas Williams had a pair of interceptions in the final 75 seconds of the first half, including one for a touchdown.

First-place St. Louis moved two games ahead of Seattle in the NFC West and can clinch the division with a victory over the Seahawks Dec. 14. The Rams, who missed the playoffs last season, used Williams' big plays near the end of the half, as well as a late defensive stand, to tie the Philadelphia Eagles for the best record in the conference.

Browns coach Butch Davis pulled Holcomb, who was in tears on the sideline, and replaced him with Tim Couch. Couch led Cleveland on a pair of touchdown drives in the second half and Dennis Northcutt's 20-yard punt return set up the Browns in Rams' territory with 2:11 to go.

St. Louis scored 17 points off second-quarter miscues by Holcomb, who also fumbled. Holcomb was 10-of-17 for 80 yards and one score.
