CALGARY, Alberta, Dec. 7 (UPI) -- Shean Donovan had his second career hat trick plus an assist Sunday night as Calgary stretched its winning streak to four by downing Pittsburgh, 6-1.
Pittsburgh has all sorts of problems, especially in the opening 20 minutes, where it has been outscored, this season, 36-11.
A former Penguin, Donovan has 11 goals, including nine during a career-high six-game points streak. He got the Flames going a minute into the game with a nifty backhanded pass that set up defenseman Jordan Leopold's fourth goal.
After Milan Kraft tied it, Donovan put the Flames ahead for good at 5:28 with a one-timer past goaltender Sebastien Caron.
Stephane Yelle tapped in a rebound and Oleg Saprykin scored on the power play late in the second before Donovan tallied twice in the third to complete his first hat trick since Nov. 29, 2000.
