NHL: Philaldelphia 1, Boston 1 (OT)

BOSTON, Dec. 6 (UPI) -- Mark Recchi scored early in the second period and Jeff Hackett made 38 saves Saturday as Philadelphia rallied for a 1-1 tie with Boston.

Sergei Samsonov's power-play goal at 8:24 of the first period was his first in 12 games. Rookie Patrice Bergeron tried a wraparound at the left goalpost, but the puck slid to the top of the crease, where Samsonov flipped it past an out of position Hackett for his first goal since Nov. 8.

Recchi secured a point for the Flyers when he got the puck low in the right faceoff circle with his back to the net. He turned and shoveled a shot past the right arm of goaltender Andrew Raycroft and inside the far goalpost.
