Daniel Briere unleashed a shot that trickled behind Blackhawks goaltender Michael Leighton before Maxim Afinogenov nudged it over the goal line for his fifth of the season.

Briere was willing to share the wealth after he scored his eighth goal in the second period. He picked up his 13th assist on Afinogenov's tally.

The Blackhawks got within 3-2 on Brett McLean's sixth of the season with 1:59 left but were unable to tie the game despite pulling Leighton in the final minute.

Defenseman Bryan Berard also scored for the Blackhawks, whose winless streak reached 12 games.
