Lions place WR Rogers on injured reserve

ALLEN PARK, Mich., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- The Detroit Lions Tuesday placed talented rookie wide receiver Charles Rogers on injured reserve with a broken right collarbone.

Selected second overall in April's draft, Rogers suffered the injury in practice on Oct. 7 and has missed the last seven games.

At the time of his injury, Rogers was leading the Lions in receiving with 22 catches for 243 yards and three touchdowns. He had two TD receptions in a season-opening 42-24 win over Arizona.

To replace Rogers on the roster, the Lions signed wide receiver James Williams, who was released by Seattle during training camp.
