NHL: Atlanta 1, Phoenix 0

ATLANTA, Nov. 23 (UPI) -- Marc Savard scored a power-play goal in the second period Sunday afternoon, lifting the Atlanta Thrashers to a 1-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes.

On a power play 8:25 into the second, Randy Robitaille fired the puck toward the net from the right faceoff circle. Savard, activated prior to the game after missing three weeks with an ankle injury, deflected it through traffic and past Brian Boucher for the game's only goal.

Pasi Nurminen made 21 saves for his second shutout of the season as Atlanta won its fourth straight game.

Boucher made 27 saves, but it was not enough to keep the Coyotes' road winless streak from reaching nine games (0-4-4-1).

After not being shut out in their first 18 games, the Coyotes have failed to score in each of their last two.
